Broadstairs is a traditional seaside town and has been a firm favourite with holiday makers for over a century.  Just a just a short 1 hr 20 mins train ride from London, Broadstairs on the East Kent coast makes it a fantastic destination for a short break or if you are looking to stay a little longer, the neighbouring seaside towns of Margate and Ramsgate are only a short drive / train journey away.

Broadstairs is steeped in rich history, with literary connections to Charles Dickens who stayed at Bleak House and wrote David Copperfield here.  It is certainly worth a visit to the Dickens House Museum to explore the inspiration behind his beloved characters.

You can't visit Broadstairs without exploring one of the many award-winning beaches; Broadstairs main sands Viking Bay is perfect if you are looking for seaside fun, featuring fun children's rides, deck chairs, cafes, lift access and boardwalks, for exhilarating surfing opportunities visit nearby Joss Bay, or if you prefer something a little quieter then visit Stone Bay, great for rock pooling, finally and for those of you with furry friends stroll along dog friendly Louisa Bay (dogs must be kept on a lead from 10am-6pm, from 1st May to 30th September).

Broadstairs is also a fantastic place to visit for its growing culinary scene.  There are so many places to eat, award winning restaurants offering delectable cuisines, bistros offering casual fine dining, cafes serving light bites and Full English’s, and it wouldn't be a seaside town without a traditional Fish 'N' Chips shop to Eat-In or Takeaway, watch out for the seagulls!   For those with a sweet tooth, stop by Morelli’s or Chiappini’s traditional ice-cream parlours for a scoop of authentic Italian gelato.

Lillyputt Mini Golf and Broadstairs Amusements will keep young and old entertained for hours or join in a Seashore Safari with Thanet Coast Projects who hold regular events throughout the year.

Exploring Broadstairs is thirsty work, and the good news is Broadstairs has a superb selection of places to drink.  Craft beers, ales and ciders are abundant in the towns many Micro Pubs or if you prefer something more traditional visit one of the many pubs in town.  Cocktails lounges and bars offer the classics and House Specials.   Lots of these venues also have regular entertainment, supporting local bands and musicians.
